COVID-19 Update – 6th July 2020

Ladies,

At the moment I will not be taking any more bookings for new or existing clients until I have everyone rescheduled who had booked in before lockdown. Those who had paid for treatments in full, had treatments postponed or paid a deposit are my priority.

I am working extra days to try and accommodate you all including Sundays, but currently this is taking me up to Mid August.

When the opportunity arises, I will then be rescheduling all those who had made a request for a FREE consultation. And opening my diary for all those existing clients returning for annual top ups.

Thank you all for your continued support and patience!

Temporary Closure

To all my loyal clients and friends, it’s with a heavy heart I am announcing the closure of all 3 Clinics In Moira, Lisburn & Lurgan until further notice. It’s NOT forever, it’s just until the public are safe again and then we can resume as normal. But there are much more important things in life right now and this little pause will just be TEMPORARY.

As a one woman army,  I value each and every one of you that has taken the time to visit the clinics time and time again and return making them such a success. All deposits will be honoured and moved to your new appointment once I reopen. I will be adding additional clinic days to accommodate each and every one of you.

Please continue to support my little business by liking and sharing as much as you can. Maybe adding a little review or purchasing a gift voucher for your next treatment.

What is SPMU?

Semi permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing. The specialised techniques used for semi permanent cosmetics are often referred to “micropigmentation” or “dermagraphics”. The cosmetic implantation technique deposits coloured pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis.

Is it safe?

I use the highest quality equipment and iron-oside free pigments to keep you safe. The devices are top quality and reflect the latest hygienic conditions and guarantee excellent results.

Is it permanent?

During the procedure droplets of pigment are placed into the dermal layer of your skin. Anything deposited in the epidermis, which is your upper exfoliating layer will eventually exfoliate. This happens during the healing process. The initial exfoliation starts about three days after the tattooing. Tiny particles of normally shedding skin flake off carrying some colour. This is why your tattoo can lighten up to 20-30% during the healing process. It may take three to six weeks for the finished result to be “settled in”.

Semi permanent cosmetics may take several sessions (2-3) of layering in colour to achieve your desired result. The degree of colour permanency varies with each individual. Colours like to fade to their base colour, but can easily be corrected by a colour boost. So the answer is yes, micro pigmentation or cosmetics is permanent!

How long does each procedure take?

The initial procedure will generally take approximately 2 to 2½ hours; there are records to establish; photographs to take; desired design and colour to discuss; the procedure to perform; and the aftercare requirements to discuss. Top up procedures usually do not require the same amount of time.

Are there any side effects during or after the treatment?

While eyebrows may show little after effect, this is very dependent upon the amount of work performed. Some people swell more from minor skin infractions than others. During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. Side effects are difficult to determine due to the individual. This is why I require a client history profile be filled out to assess different factors that may contribute to your experience after the tattooing procedure has been completed. The possibility that you would have any problems or reactions from these procedures is almost non-existent with today’s health standards. Post procedural instructions, if followed carefully, will greatly reduce any risk. Medical problems associated with semi permanent cosmetics are often linked to poor attention to the required aftercare process on behalf of the client.

What is a touch-up and do I need one?

Often the tattooed colour is not perfect after the initial procedure heals. Semi permanent cosmetic procedures are a process and at least one follow-up to the initial procedure should be scheduled. This is included in your initial treatment cost. THERE IS NO IMMEDIATE RESULT!

IMPORTANT: Touch-up can not be done sooner than four weeks after the original procedure.

How do I prepare myself for the treatment?

  • Do not consume alcohol 48 hours prior to any procedure.
  • Do not consume any coffee, tea or energy drink 3 hours prior to any procedure.
  • Do not tint your eyebrows and do not go under any cosmetic procedures e.g. facial
  • treatments or peeling 1 week prior to the procedure.
  • Do not go to sunbed 3 days prior to the procedure.
  • Do not apply make-up.
  • You have to come with clean, fresh skin.
  • Be there min 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate in getting in touch.

CANCELLATION: Due to the length of the treatments and my strict schedule, I have 48 hours Cancellation Policy. £50 is taken as a deposit to secure your slot, so please, please make sure you have chosen your appointment carefully with me, otherwise you will loose your deposit.

SPMU Brows – Do’s & Don’ts

Do’s

  • Ask to see a portfolio of previous clients from your makeup technician.
  • Ensure you have a patch test. This is to make sure you don’t have an allergic reaction to the pigments.
  • Ask about the training that the technicians have at the clinic. Also check to see if these are approved by any awarding bodies.
  • Your technician will draw a template shape on your brow before starting the tattooing. Make sure you are happy with this and make any changes if needed.
  • Remember the treatment is a two-three step process with a touch-up appointment after the first four weeks. This retouching finalises the treatment.

Don’ts

  • Choose your technician based on the price. Many stylists have different skill levels therefore prices will vary. What you pay is what you get.
  • Forget to look after your new brows. Aftercare is vital for the results to last up to 12-18 months. Your stylist will give you a list of guidelines to follow.
  • Have unrealistic expectations. The aim of semi permanent makeup is to create a natural effect that enhances your features.
  • Ignore the advice of your stylist! They are professional artist and have many years experience.
  • Don’t scratch or pick at your eyebrows after treatment. Allow them to heal in their own time for the best result.
